7 Days in Andaman: A Perfect Island-Hopping Travel Plan for First-Time Visitors
It can be overwhelming and exhilarating to plan a trip to the Andaman Islands. There is a lot to do and see, including beautiful turquoise waters, stunning white sand beaches, incredible coral reefs, and a rich colonial history that stretches across many islands. The Andaman Islands are not just a single destination but rather a collection of wonderful experiences. For this reason, we have created an itinerary that will allow you to explore the Andaman Islands for 7 days and enjoy yourself while not feeling rushed. This itinerary also provides plenty of time for relaxation, exploration, and taking in the beauty of the islands. Let’s break down the itinerary by day.
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN PORT BLAIR – A PLACE WHERE HISTORY MEETS THE OCEAN
Your first day in the Andaman Islands begins in Port Blair, the capital of the Andaman Islands. After arriving in Port Blair, you will check into your hotel to check in. You should take some time to relax from your travels to help ease the effects of travel fatigue. Travel fatigue can be a real issue after flights and ferry rides.
In the afternoon, visit the famous Cellular Jail, a historic place that carries a lot of weight regarding India’s history of gaining independence. The physical structure itself has many stories related to the fight for India to become free from British rule. You should stay to see the Light and Sound Show that movingly illuminates history.
To end your first day, you can take a nice, quiet walk along the bay and watch the sunset over the Bay of Bengal from Corbyn’s Cove Beach.

On our 2nd day, we will take the morning ferry from Port Blair to Havelock Island
Swaraj Dweep, which is one of Andaman’s most visited destinations. The scenic ferry ride takes you past many ocean views and islands off into the distance! When you arrive, you will check in at your accommodation and then head straight to Radhanagar Beach, which is often listed as one of the best beaches in Asia. White soft sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, and a laid-back vibe make for great opportunities to swim, take photos, or just relax. Spend time enjoying the local seafood or having coffee in a beach cafe.
Beyond just lying on the beach! We will start out with some of the many water sports activities that can be done on the island, such as snorkelling, scuba diving, and sea walking! The conditions are safe enough for even novice participants to take part in these activities with the help of experienced guides. We will then continue our visits in the afternoon to Elephant Beach, which has some of the most colourful corals and shallow water snorkelling opportunities available. If water sports are not your cup of tea, the beach is stunningly beautiful in its own right and perfect for relaxing and taking in the views for hours! In the evening, we will be back at our hotel, relaxing after what will have been a long and fun day under the stars.
Day 4: Havelock to Neil Island – Slow Travel at Its Best
On day four, you leave the bustle behind and head over to Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep). The ferry ride is quick, but the vibe shift hits you right away—Neil is quieter, less crowded, and honestly feels like another world.
Start at Bharatpur Beach. It’s great for swimming, and if you’re up for it, hop on a glass-bottom boat and check out the underwater life. Later, make your way to Laxmanpur Beach. This spot is known for its wild sunsets and those natural rock formations everyone talks about.
Neil Island is custom-made for anyone who loves calm, empty roads, slow cycling through tiny villages, and falling asleep to the sound of waves.

Kick off the morning with a stroll to the Natural Bridge. It’s a rocky arch best explored at low tide and the path there is full of tiny marine creatures—so keep your eyes open.
After lunch, catch the ferry back to Port Blair. You’ve got the evening free, so wander around Aberdeen Bazaar. It’s the go-to place for souvenirs, shell crafts, and some local snacks to bring back with you.
Day 6: Day Trip to Ross Island & North Bay
Time for a little more island hopping. Grab a boat from Port Blair and head to Ross Island. This place once served as the British administrative hub, but now, tree roots and vines have taken over the old ruins, making it feel both eerie and beautiful.
Next stop: North Bay Island. This is where you go for water sports—snorkelling, jet skiing, even underwater walking. The coral views here are just spectacular. It’s a pretty epic way to round off your adventure activities.
Day 7: Departure – Taking Andaman Home with You
Depending on your flight, take your time with breakfast and grab any last-minute souvenirs before heading to the airport. By now, you’re probably sun-kissed, relaxed, and already thinking about when to come back.
Plan your trip between October and May. The weather’s nice, ferries run on time, and every water activity is open. Monsoon season (June to September) gets rough—ferries can get cancelled and the sea isn’t as friendly.
